Ryan Hunter Reay is an American racing driver from Boca Raton, Florida. He currently drives the #28 Sun Drop / DHL car for Andretti Autosport.

Hunter Reay's first season in the IndyCar Series was 2007, when he replaced Jeff Simmons in the #17 car for Rahal Letterman Racing prior to a race at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course. Prior to that, he had competed in CART and Champcar. In the six races he competed in 2007, he scored three top tens and secured rookie of the year. He won his first race the following year at Watkins Glen after passing Darren Manning on a late race restart. In 2009, Rahal Letterman withdrew their team and left Hunter Reay with no ride. He got one with Vision Racing that lasted until the Indianapolis 500. In his first outing with the team, he finished second. At the Indianapolis 500 that year, Vitor Meira was injured, and Hunter Reay replaced him at AJ Foyt Enterprises for the remainder of the year. However, Meira returned from injuries at years' end and Hunter Reay was again left without a ride. He secured a ride with Andretti Autosport for the first six races. In his first race at Sao Paulo he finished second to Will Power. He won his second race at Long Beach, and gained enough sponsorship to finish the season. For 2011, IZOD, his previous sponsor, left Andretti for Team Penske. DHL and Sun Drop sponsored Hunter Reay in 2011. He failed to qualify for teh Indianapolis 500, but his team payed AJ Foyt Enterprises to fire their normal driver Bruno Junqueira. He won the rain soaked Move That Block 200 race in controversial fashion at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Oriol Servia passed Hunter Reay when the race was restarted in rain. Many competitors were critical of the decision to hold a race on an oval speedway in the rain, where there were no rain tires. Will Power was an especially harsh critic, infamously flipping off the camera crew. The officials reverted to the pre restart order. Servia's pass was nullified, and Hunter Reay was declared the winner. Seriva and Scott Dixon protested this decision. In 2012, Hunter Reay has had his strongest season, winning three consectutive races at The Milwaukee Mile, Iowa Speedway, and Toronto.
